Pool is a group of sports played between individuals on a cloth-covered table, sided by rails. Players use a wooden stick, called a cue, to strike a white ball so that it knocks another ball of a different color into one of six pockets on the table. The amount of colored balls on the table varies based on which game is played, but is generally 15 or 9. Although the rules for each pool game vary, they involve trying to pocket the colored balls in a specific order.
